Overview

The Risk Management workshop is designed to inform individuals on how to design, develop and implement risk management techniques across a business, as well as building a better understanding of enterprise risk management tools and practices. This course is developed against international standards, exploring how risk management works better in collaboration with other business activities.

It is particularly suited to be delivered as a standalone course to risk management personnel who are in daily contact with business leaders, or as part of a wider development programme for people in junior and middle manager roles. The material can also be used as a refresher for individuals and teams who have not received an update for some time.

Agenda

The 1 Day On-Line Workshop explores the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework as "a structured approach for organisations to systematically identify, assess, manage, and monitor risks across all business units."

Key components and goals

  • Systematic process: procedures for identifying, assessing, responding to, and monitoring risks consistently across the organisation
  • Holistic view: a unified, company-wide view of risks — financial, strategic, operational or compliance-related — rather than managing each in isolation
  • Integration with strategy: integrating risk management into strategic planning and decision-making to align with objectives
